CONTACT LENSES Technology in the field of contact lenses has changed significantly over the past few years making contact lens wear more comfortable and convenient than ever. Silicone Hydrogel lenses are now available allowing for 30 continuous days of wear in some cases. Multifocal contact lenses are better than ever for allowing usable near and far vision without reading glasses for those over 40. We are also excited to offer a relatively novel method to correct nearsightedness and astigmatism without surgery or daytime contact lens wear: Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT)CRT is a nonsurgical method to correct myopia and astigmatism that utilizes comfortable retainers worn at night that temporarily reshape the cornea, correcting vision. It is an excellent option for those who cannot tolerate daytime contact lenses, for children not yet ready to wear lenses, for athletes, especially swimmers, and for those who do not want to bear the risks of refractive surgery, yet want to be free of contact lenses and glasses. OCULAR DISEASE AND EYE INJURY TREAMENT From "pink eye" to glaucoma to surgical consultations and co-management, we seek to be you and your family`s eye doctor. If you are interested in LASIK or other refractive procedures, we suggest having a third party opinion before having the surgical center evaluate you. We can discuss all the options and tell you if you are a candidate and work with you throughout the surgical process. PEDIATRICS We love children! A thorough eye exam for children is important to detect potentially sight-threatening conditions such as strabismus and amblyopia among others. When treated early, these conditions can often be remediated with no lasting sequelae. We recommend that a comprehensive eye exam be performed no later than age five and even earlier if parents suspect any problems. Dr.`s Grant and Morrison both participate in the InfantSEE program, which provides free eye exams to children under 1 year of age. INSURANCE We always help patients to maximize their insurance coverage. If you have vision insurance, then you probably have some coverage towards routine eye exams and glasses or contact lenses. If you have medical insurance, then you probably have coverage towards evaluation and treatment of eye conditions ranging from dry eye syndrome and allergic conjunctivitis to Diabetic eye disease and glaucoma.
